About AMIC

AMIC commitment

Advanced Medical Imaging Consultants (AMIC) is in the business of life. Every day, our board-certified, subspecialty fellowship-trained radiologists provide referring physicians with the important — and often lifesaving — information they need for their patients. By pinpointing unknown health problems early, patients can get the treatment they need before they become more serious. At AMIC, caring for our friends and neighbors is nothing new. We have been doing it since our inception in 1976, when we were a two-physician radiology practice.

Over the years, we added more radiologists and became the first in the region to perform many diagnostic procedures, helping make us leaders in our field. Today, AMIC has over 40 fellowship-trained radiologists and is the exclusive provider for leading area hospitals in and around Northern Colorado, Southern Wyoming, and Southwest Nebraska. Over 700 physicians in nearly every specialty rely on us for accurate diagnoses that are the foundation of excellent medical care, and oftentimes the key to saving lives.

For us, there is no better business to be in.

AMIC subspecialty expertise

When it comes to your patients’ health, you want them to receive the same exceptional level of care that you provide from start to finish. At AMIC, we believe the best care starts with an experienced, credentialed staff who can provide you with skilled interpretations you can count on. All of our radiologists are board-certified by the American Board of Radiology, which means they have passed stringent examinations after undergoing four to five years of residency training.

Furthermore, each of them has completed one to two additional years of subspecialty fellowship training in areas such as neuroradiology, nuclear medicine, musculoskeletal radiology, body imaging, and interventional radiology.

This specialization gives our radiologists enhanced knowledge of the latest diagnostic techniques and applications in their particular fields. The AMIC radiologists are also members of some of the most respected organizations in their field, such as the American College of Radiology, Radiological Society of North America, International Skeletal Society, American Society of Neuroradiology, American Society of Head and Neck Radiology, Society of Cardiovascular CT, Society of Breast Imaging, and Society of Interventional Radiology.

AMIC capabilities

AMIC has been the diagnostic backbone for the Northern Colorado, Southern Wyoming, and Southwest Nebraska medical communities for over three decades. And through the years, our fellowship-trained radiologists have been the first in these areas to offer many innovative diagnostic advances, including CT (computed tomography), MRI (magnetic resonance imaging), and PET (positron emission tomography).

We are committed to continuously evaluating the latest developments in our field and, more importantly, offering proven innovations to your patients. Here are some of the leading-edge technologies we call upon to help us diagnose a whole host of health problems:

  • Standard Radiography, including conventional x-rays, fluoroscopy, gastrointestinal and genitourinary imaging, arthrography, and DEXA scanning (bone densitometry).
  • Advanced Body Imaging utilizing the most sophisticated, currently-available applications in ultrasound, CT (computed tomography), and MRI (magnetic resonance imaging).  CT screening studies in high-risk patients is also available, including CT lung screening for lung cancer, CT cardiac screening for coronary atherosclerosis, and CT colonography screening for colon cancer.
  • Cardiovascular Imaging including CT cardiac calcium scoring, coronary CTA (CT angiography), cardiac MRI, coronary MRA (MR angiography), radionuclide cardiac stress testing, and CTA & MRA of the central and peripheral blood vessels.
  • Neuroradiology utilizing ultrasound, CT, and MRI of the entire central nervous system.  Sophisticated neuro-vascular imaging of the head and neck using conventional angiography, duplex Doppler ultrasound, CTA (CT angiography), and MRA (MR angiography).
  • Musculoskeletal Imaging & Pain Management utilizing standard radiography, conventional arthrography, CT, MR, MR arthrography, and ultrasound.  Pain management procedures including imaging-guided epidural steroid injections, selective nerve root and facet blockade, SI (sacro-iliac) joint injections, and large joint steroid injections.
  • Oncologic Imaging using state-of-the-art PET (positron emission tomography) and PET-CT fusion imaging.
  • Interventional Radiology including peripheral, renal, and carotid angiography, angioplasty, and endovascular stent placement.  Uterine artery fibroid embolization, percutaneous biliary and genitourinary procedures, image-guided biopsies, short- and long-term vascular access, vertebroplasty-kyphoplasty, and interventional oncology procedures (chemotherapy port placement, tumor embolization, radiofrequency tumor ablation, and Y90 yttrium therapy).
  • Comprehensive Breast Imaging offering standard mammography, digital mammography, R2 CAD (computer-aided detection), breast ultrasound, and breast MRI.  Complete array of imaging-guided breast interventions, including breast biopsy, aspiration, and pre-operative breast lesion wire localization.

AMIC accessibility

AMIC is dedicated to putting you and your patients first with accessible, conscientious service. Our radiologists are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. And because we are the radiologists for several hospitals in Northern Colorado, Southern Wyoming, and Southwest Nebraska, your patients get our commitment to thorough, accurate results without having to drive far. We will provide you with the results of your patients’ exams promptly. Reports are available within one workday or less — and urgent findings will be sent or called in immediately.

Another way we make our care efficient is with a picture archiving and communication system (PACS), which we introduced first to the communities we serve. With PACS, you can log on to a secure, HIPAA-compliant website and view a complete study, written report, and key images of your patients’ exams. This anytime, anywhere access eliminates delays inherent to a film-based operation.
